Karmel Covenant Church is dedicated to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all who participate in the life of the church. We ask that the congregation partner with us and monitor themselves and those in their immediate family for signs of illness prior to attending programs or services at Karmel Covenant Church. Our policy is based on the Minnesota Department of Health Decision Tree for Schools, Youth, and Child Care Programs.
More common symptoms of COVID 19: fever (temperature greater than 100.4), cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, new loss of taste or smell
Less common symptoms of COVID 19: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, chills, muscle pain, excessive fatigue, headache, congestion or runny nose, undiagnosed rash, sore throat
If you or anyone in your immediate family has:
ONE of the “more common” symptoms
TWO or more of the “less common” symptoms
We ask that your family not attend. It is also highly recommended that the symptomatic individual(s) seek evaluation and/or COVID testing from a health care provider for these symptoms. If their test returns negative or they receive an alternative diagnosis for their symptoms, everyone may return. If you DO NOT seek evaluation from a provider and/or you DO NOT get COVID tested, we ask that your family remain away from church programs/services for at least 10 days from the time
symptoms started until symptoms improve AND no fever for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications.
If you or anyone in your immediate family has ONE of the “less common symptoms” of COVID 19, please use your judgement to determine if the symptomatic individual is well enough to come to church. If not, they may return to church 24 hours after symptoms have resolved. If you or anyone in your immediate family has had close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, that individual should remain home for the Minnesota Department of Health’s recommended 14-day period. Close contact is defined as being within 6 feet for at least 15 minutes of someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19. This includes anyone living in the same household.
